Dungarvan Hillwalking Club, County Waterford, Ireland was founded in 1995 and provides members with an opportunity to participate in walking and mountaineering activities together.
We walk and hike predominantly in the surrounding area of the remarkable Comeragh, Knockmealdown and Galtee Mountain ranges as well as local woodland and coastal walks, and offer different walks to suit differing levels of experience. We offer two trips further afield a year to members, one elsewhere in Ireland and one internationally.
We promote awareness of the need to maintain access, conservation and protection of the mountain and woodland environment and we hold two very special annual events in aid of local charities: the Comeragh Crossing and the Cunningar Crossing.
Today we have a growing membership of around 180, are affiliated to Mountaineering Ireland with whose support and resources we are able to provide access to training opportunities, and we welcome new members.
